About Tezos (XTZ)
Tezos is an open-source platform that facilitates peer-to-peer transactions and the deployment of smart contracts. It has a native cryptocurrency, Tezos (XTZ), which maintains and powers its network. The users of the Tezos platform can use this token to pay for interacting with dApps and using the Tezos network. They can also stake it to vote for Tezos network upgrades and participate in its block publishing process.
Tezoz network works on the proof-of-stake consensus mechanism and names its block-validating process as “baking.'' To become a baker (validator) in Tezos and vote in its decisions, a user must hold at least 6000 XTZ tokens.
A significant upside of Tezos is its smartly developed self-upgradable infrastructure that minimizes the chances of forking. It implies that the bakers in Tezos vote on every proposed change by the Tezoz developers. Only the proposals with majority support go further for development, and others get rejected.
