What is Reef (REEF) ?
Reef (REEF) is the primary utility token of the Reef platform. Its name, “REEF”, is an abbreviation for its Reliable, Extensible, and Efficient First Layer Blockchain that facilitates DeFi, NFT, and Gaming-related services and products. The complete infrastructure of Reef operates on an NPoS (Nominated Proof of Stake) consensus mechanism in which the network nominators select validators through an election process.
The EVM compatibility of Reef allows developers to port their existing dApps from Ethereum to Reef without modifying the code. It has a community-elected technical council that makes it self-upgradable by continuously bringing the necessary upgrades.
The Reef users pay some fee for minting/ buying NFTs, trading tokens, performing transactions, and utilizing any other services in REEF tokens. The network automatically uses the collected fees to burn the supply of REEF tokens. REEF has no fixed maximum supply but has a target supply of 20 billion.
