What is IoTex (IOTX)?
Iotex (IOTX) is the native currency of a decentralized platform that uses smart contracts to connect IoT devices to blockchains and dApps. It operates on an EVM-compatible layer-1 Blockchain network, allowing users and machines to interact securely.
The complete ecosystem of IoTex works on a unique variation of DPoS consensus called Roll-D PoS, allowing it to practice instant finality and high scalability. To reduce the total supply of IOTX, it follows a unique Burn-Drop tokenomics, where the platform burns IOTX for every newly registered device and drops rewards to long-term IOTX holders. The IoTex infrastructure uses an approach of separating duties under which its root blockchain manages the multiple interoperable function-specific blockchains working on specific IoT devices.
IOTX token allows its holders to earn through staking, pay network gas fees, connect new IoT devices with the IoTex network, and participate in the governance protocol of the IoTex network. With more products going live on the IoTex platform, the value of IoTex increases.
